Company Registration in Pakistan
We handle company registration in Pakistan end to end — name reservation, documents, SECP filing and the certificate — then the steps that come after it, like NTN and a corporate bank account. One WhatsApp conversation, no office visit, and the consultation is free.
Consultation is free. Our service fee is confirmed with you on WhatsApp before anything is filed — government fees depend on your authorised capital and are explained upfront, not discovered later.
Which structure fits your business?
The first decision is structure — and it is the one that is hardest to undo later. The table below is the honest comparison. Note the trap in the last two rows: neither a partnership firm nor a sole proprietorship is an SECP company at all.
| Structure | Owners | Separate legal entity? | Liability | Registered with | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Private Limited Company | Two or more members | Yes | Limited to shareholding | SECP | Startups, SMEs, founders planning to hire, raise investment or sign bigger contracts |
| Single Member Company (SMC) | One person + a nominee director | Yes | Limited | SECP | Solo founders who want corporate protection without partners |
| Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) | Two or more partners | Yes | Limited | SECP | Professional firms and partnerships wanting lighter compliance than a company |
| Partnership firm / AOP | Two or more partners | No | Unlimited — partners personally liable | Provincial Registrar of Firms, not SECP | Two people wanting a simple deed, accepting personal liability |
| Sole proprietorship | One person | No — the business is you | Unlimited | FBR for NTN only, no SECP registration | Freelancers starting out, before incorporation becomes worth it |
Two more structures exist and are sometimes confused with the above. A public limited company needs three or more persons at formation and carries heavier governance — it is for businesses heading towards public investment, not a first registration.
A not-for-profit under Section 42 follows a separate licensing route before and alongside incorporation, and takes months rather than days. If either is what you actually need, say so on WhatsApp and we will tell you plainly whether it fits your case.
One naming point that saves confusion: Pakistan has no "LLC" as a legal form, whatever you read online. The local equivalents are the private limited company and the LLP. If a foreign client or platform asks for your "LLC documents", what they need is your SECP certificate — and we provide exactly that.
What a registered company actually gives you
A registered company is a separate legal person. It can own property, sign contracts, open a corporate bank account and be sued or sue — in its own name, not yours. That separation is the whole point: your personal assets are not the business's assets, and a business debt does not automatically become a personal one.
The practical payoffs follow from that. Clients and corporate buyers take a registered company more seriously. Banks ask for incorporation documents before opening a business account. Government tenders, export incentives and registrations like PSEB for IT firms all start from the certificate. And an investor cannot buy into a sole proprietorship — they can buy shares in your company.
There is also a fact that surprises first-time founders: there is no minimum paid-up capital requirement for a private limited company. You do not need a large amount parked to incorporate. SECP's government fee does scale with your authorised capital, which is why we settle the capital figure with you before filing — it is a cost decision, not a barrier.
How your registration moves, step by step
The registration process runs through SECP's online portal, so there is no office visit at any stage. Here is the sequence we follow for you.
Name reservation
We propose up to three names and file for reservation. The name must be unique, not deceptively similar to an existing company, and free of restricted words unless approval is obtained.
Documents prepared
We draft your Memorandum of Association (what the company does) and Articles of Association (how it is run), and collect director, shareholder and office details.
SECP filing
We file the incorporation application on SECP's portal, upload the documents, and pay the government fee through the portal's payment channel.
Certificate issued
On approval, SECP issues your Certificate of Incorporation with a Company Universal Identification Number (CUIN) — the legal proof that your company exists.
After incorporation
We help with what comes next: NTN registration with FBR, a corporate bank account, sales tax registration if your supplies are taxable, income tax return filing each year, and PSEB registration for IT firms.
With clean documents, SECP approval typically takes days, not months. The exact time depends on name approval and whether SECP raises any objection — which is why the documents are checked before filing, not after. A name objection or a document mismatch is the usual reason a "quick" registration drags, and both are avoidable.
What we need from you
Clear photos or scans on WhatsApp are fine. Most delays come from one missing item, so we check the full set before filing.
People
- CNIC copies of all directors, shareholders and subscribers
- Passport copies for foreign directors or shareholders, where applicable
- CNIC of the nominee director, for a Single Member Company
- Mobile numbers and email addresses linked to each person
Company
- Up to three proposed company names, in order of preference
- Registered office address proof — utility bill or lease agreement
- Business activity and objectives, for the Memorandum
- Share capital and shareholding split between owners
- Director details and who will be chief executive
Where registrations usually get stuck
Most registration delays come from three places, and all three are avoidable. The first is the name: a name identical or deceptively similar to an existing company gets refused, and a search result is not a reservation — the Registrar decides. Do not print branding or buy domains around a name before it is approved.
The second is the Memorandum. It defines what your company may legally do, and you cannot operate outside the listed objectives. A narrow or careless objectives clause causes trouble later with banks, clients and licences — so we draft it around your real business, not a template's.
The third is what happens after the certificate. A company that never gets its NTN, never opens its bank account and never files its annual returns is a company in name only, and it collects compliance problems quietly. Our service includes the after-steps for exactly that reason — incorporation is the start, not the finish.
On "cheapest registration" offers. The government fee is the same whoever files for you, and it depends on your authorised capital. A quote far below everyone else usually means the government fee is missing, the after-steps are missing, or the capital figure has been set without telling you. We confirm both parts — our fee and the government fee — on WhatsApp before filing.
Across Pakistan, from one WhatsApp chat
We handle registrations for founders in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar, Quetta, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Hyderabad and every other city — including overseas Pakistanis and foreign founders, who need a passport and, in some shareholding cases, additional SECP approval. The filing is online, so your city changes nothing about the process.
Company Registration — Asked & Answered
What is company registration in Pakistan?
Company registration in Pakistan is the legal process of incorporating a business entity under the Companies Act, 2017 through SECP. On approval, SECP issues a Certificate of Incorporation, and your business becomes a separate legal entity with limited liability protection.
Private limited or SMC — which should I choose?
If you have two or more owners, a private limited company. If you are alone, an SMC — it is a private limited company with one member, plus a nominee director who steps in if anything happens to you. The compliance load is nearly the same either way, so the choice is really about how many owners you have.
Can a foreigner register a company in Pakistan?
Yes. Foreign nationals and overseas Pakistanis can incorporate, using a passport instead of a CNIC. Some shareholding patterns need additional SECP approval, which we flag before filing so it does not surface as a surprise objection.
How long does company registration in Pakistan take?
With clean documents, company registration in Pakistan usually completes within days of filing. The exact time depends on name approval and whether SECP raises any objection — both of which we reduce by checking documents before submission, not after.
What does company registration in Pakistan cost?
The cost of company registration in Pakistan has two parts: our service fee, and the SECP government fee, which depends on your authorised capital. We confirm both figures on WhatsApp before filing — no fee is discovered after the fact.
What happens after my company is registered?
NTN registration with FBR, a corporate bank account, and — if your supplies are taxable — sales tax registration. Companies also have annual SECP filings. We help with the after-steps so the certificate does not sit unused while compliance quietly builds up.
Is the consultation really free?
Yes. We settle which structure fits you, review your documents, and confirm your fee on WhatsApp before any filing starts. If incorporation does not fit your case — a sole proprietorship may be enough for now — we say so.
