Fard for Gas Connection — All Punjab
Need a Fard for Your New Sui Gas Connection?
Here’s the thing about SNGPL (Sui Northern Gas): whenever new gas connections are open, the first document they ask for — after your CNIC — is ownership proof. Registry, sale deed, or fard. We arrange the sui gas fard through PLRA, online, without you visiting any office.

Worth Knowing
The Gas Connection Situation in 2026
Let’s be straight with you: SNGPL’s new-connection policy has changed several times. Connections were banned in 2021, reopened in October 2025 on imported RLNG gas, and in 2026 there were reports of the ban returning — the situation is still unsettled. Here’s what hasn’t changed through all of it: whenever applications are open, ownership proof is mandatory — and the fard is the fastest document to arrange. Get yours ready now, so you’re first in line the moment SNGPL opens applications. And one more thing: new connections run on RLNG tariff (roughly 70% higher than old system gas), so check the current rates before you apply.
The Document
What Is a Fard for Gas Connection?
It’s the fard-e-malkiat — PLRA’s official record of who owns a piece of land. SNGPL lists “registry, fard, or sale deed” as the accepted ownership proof for every new gas meter application. People call it the SNGPL fard, the sui gas fard, the gas meter fard — different names, same paper, and it’s the one we arrange for you.
Where you’ll need it
- A new domestic SNGPL gas meter
- Commercial connections — shops, restaurants, bakeries
- A second meter or load extension at your property
- Name transfer when you buy a house with an existing meter
What it proves
- Your name as the recorded owner
- The khewat, khatoni and khasra numbers
- Exact area and location of the property
- That the record is current and QR-verified
How It Works
Getting It Takes 4 Steps
You won’t need to visit any office.
Message us on WhatsApp
Send a photo of your CNIC and whatever property details you have. Khewat and khasra numbers are ideal. Don’t have them? Just send the full address — we’ll work with that.
We get your fard issued
We file the application with PLRA and pay the official fee. The fard comes back as a QR-coded official document.
Attach it to your SNGPL application
Upload it with your new gas meter application on the SNGPL portal or the ConnectOn app, along with your CNIC and neighbour’s gas bill. Confused by the form? We’ll walk you through it.
Survey, demand notice, meter
SNGPL surveys the site, issues the demand notice, you pay it at the bank, and the new gas meter gets installed.

FAQ
Questions People Actually Ask
+What is an SNGPL fard, in simple words?
It’s the fard-e-malkiat — proof you own the property where the gas meter will go. SNGPL lists “registry, fard, or sale deed” as accepted ownership proof, and the fard is the one most people arrange because it’s the quickest to get.
+Is a fard compulsory for a sui gas meter?
Ownership proof is, yes. It doesn’t have to be a fard — a registered sale deed works too — but the fard is what most applicants use because PLRA issues it fast.
+Are new gas connections even open in 2026?
Honestly, it keeps changing. The 2021 ban was lifted in October 2025 for RLNG-based connections, then 2026 brought reports of the ban returning — nothing is fully settled. What we can tell you: the fard stays valid regardless, so having it ready means you can apply the day SNGPL opens up. Check SNGPL’s latest notice before you apply.
+Does the fard differ for RLNG vs old system gas?
No. The fard proves ownership — it has nothing to do with which gas tariff you get. Same paper either way.
+I’m a tenant. Can I get a gas connection?
Yes, with an NOC from the property owner. The fard stays in the owner’s name; you attach their NOC to your SNGPL application.
+How long does the fard take?
Usually just a few hours after you send your details on WhatsApp. We’ll give you a straight answer on timing before we start.
+What if I don’t know my khewat number?
Happens all the time. Send the address or drop a location pin and we’ll trace the record.
+What will it cost me?
Official PLRA fee plus our service charge. Both told to you upfront on WhatsApp, nothing hidden, and you get the official receipt. (SNGPL’s own demand-notice charges are separate — those you pay to the bank on their notice.)
